Be the Help Until Help Arrives: Join the Lincoln County CERT Team
When emergencies strike, they don’t wait for professionals to arrive. That’s where the Lincoln County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) comes in—neighbors helping neighbors when it matters most.
LCCERT is actively recruiting adult volunteers (age 18 and older) who want to make a difference in their communities. Whether you’re a retiree with time to give, a professional seeking meaningful service, or someone passionate about preparedness, CERT offers the opportunity to learn life-saving skills and help others during critical times.
- Why volunteer with CERT?
- Receive free, nationally recognized emergency training
- Learn how to protect yourself, your family, and your neighbors
- Support local emergency services and community events
- Join a team of motivated and civic-minded individuals
CERT members are trained in disaster preparedness, fire safety, basic first aid, light search and rescue, animal response, and more. You don’t need previous experience—just a willingness to serve. Training is free and provided by certified instructors through FEMA and partner agencies.
CERT volunteers support the county in a variety of ways—from setting up shelters and assisting with traffic control to conducting public outreach and helping organize emergency drills. LCCERT also has fun opportunities to serve at events like Lincoln Days, Corona Days, and the County Fair.
